My family is watching Hilda. In the show, Hilda goes to stay with her Aunt Astrid whose house is amazing. It’s in the country, with a cool tower and a hammock, magical stuff all over the place. I dreamt that I was there enjoying the sauna, the library, all the perfect dream stuff1.
And then, I realized that I had to walk Mira to school. It was suddenly a nightmare. We were in the country. School was so far away. We didn’t have all the cool urban stuff that means so much to me. I’d have to drive to work.
Years ago, I used to ask people to describe their perfect place. What their perfect home would be like. It’s a great conversation starter. I’d lead in to it by talking Jung’s tower which, it turns out, looks a lot like Aunt Astrid’s house. ↩︎
