Today, we made the trip out to the Lakeshore AVS in Etobicoke, the extreme West end of Toronto. We made the trip around this time last year. I’m glad to report that the violets we got last year are doing well.
The Lakeshore AVS Show and Sale is held in a lovely little church. The whole event is small and cozy. I’m getting to know some people in the club. Everyone was glad to see our family, especially the kids. The girls were quite shy but that’s to be expected.
“Wow! Your kids have grown up so much.”
“Yeah, we keep them under lights in home-mixed soil.”
Look at the leaf variagation on this ShN-Kosmicheskaya Feya (ШН-Космическая Фея) ! Beautiful.
I just love the name of this one, Rob’s Combustible Pigeon. Asking about the name led to some fun on /r/africanviolets. My father-in-law is a pigeon fancier and I should let him know about this name.
This year, I picked up a pair of streptocarpus and a trailing violet.
Looking those up led me to Gesneriad Genera at gesneriads.info. Wow, so many genera! I’m excited to try out the streptocarpus. Also, two weeks ago, I got a eucodonia rhizome.
