We went to visit the Toronto Botanical Gardens today for simultaneous sales of the Toronto African Violet and Gesneriad Society and Toronto Cactus & Succulent Club. I was thrilled to find out that the two clubs were having their fall sale at the same time and same place.
The last time I posted about a TAVGS sale was in 2024.
Almost all of the violets I got at that show have survived to the present.
This year, I got the following.

I’ve been looking forward to getting a Combustible Pigeon for ages.
The Cactus club had a sale and a proper show. I have always enjoyed the alien forms of cacti. I used to spend ages at Alan Gardens sketching them. A few at this show caught my eye. There were even specimens of Welwitschia mirabilis for sale, which blows my mind.
This is a lovely fuzzy looking mammillaria.
I’m amazed by Silard Antal’s bonsai-like arrangement of this Operculicaria borealis. I bought my Crown of Thorns from him and look forward to staying in touch.
And here is a beautiful Operculicaria decaryi.
The kids loved running around the garden. It was perfect weather for enjoying the outdoors. Mabel loved all the flowers.
