Teaching Assistant Orientation

We should organize a three-hour long TA orientation where we do:

• The usual TA orientation stuff:
  • DDAH forms, duties,
• Working together on writing:
  • Writing solutions
  • Versioning quizzes
  • Marking using Crowdmark
• Social stuff:
  • Sharing a coffee or snack
  • Getting to know you exercises: sharing a story, talking about math experience, etc.

It would be worthwhile to look for good team building stuff.

What is needed to run this?

• DDAH forms
• Google Forms:
  • The tutorial schedule
  • The grading mapping: $\textrm{Question} \to \textrm{TA}$
• The various accounts:
  • Overleaf: needs to be upgraded to allow +10 collaborators
  • Crowdmark (with some sample student work): Reached out to Maggie Wood for suggestions on how to make this happen
