Week Notes 33

General #

A couple brief note-niks from this week.

I had my phone at home over Thanksgiving. It was nice to snap some photos of the kids, but I got way too glued to it. I don’t think the benefit was worth the amount of head space it took up.
I’ve been driving a lot. It is nice to drive the kids to and from school with Megan’s help. Hopefully, I’ll be ready for my driver’s test soon.

Reading #

I’ve been reading Sed nur Fragmento by Trevor Steele. It is so good. Esperanto books have a trope of making a big deal out of languages. This one is about a late nineteenth century Russian anthropologist visiting a South Pacific island, La Verda Insulo, and making first contact with the people there. Super-fascinating.

Writing #

I put up a draft of the material in Jayne in Brief using latex2html. It does a remarkably good job of rendering formulae, both inline and display. For example: Apache Door.

Moving #

I’ve developed severe back pack which has been keeping me up at night. It is rough. I’m hoping that a bit more movement and stretching eases it up. (Switching from driving to work to walking seems to help.)
