A very stubby draft.
I was obsessed with language learning when I was an undergraduate. I spent a bunch of time learning Spanish and Russian with a bit of German and ASL thrown in. At one point, I manually entered an entire book of Spanish vocabulary in to Anki. My vocabulary exploded. Ever since, I’ve had spaced repetition on spaced repetition on the mind.
In Fall 2025, a student came to me asking about how to use Anki for mathematics. This sent me down a bit of a rabbit hole of reading1. After years of liking the idea of spaced repetition in theory, I decided to try it out again. I installed Anki and added the following add-ons.
The name of the rabbit hole is Gwern. An incredible amount of information about spaced repetition. ↩︎
